The National Society of Pershing Rifles has active chapters at over 60 colleges or universities across the United States and Puerto Rico. It is historically headquartered at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln (or Pershing’s Own) and consists of a number of Regiments that supervise and provide governance and oversight to a number of companies. Every level is commanded by active Pershing Riflemen, providing a unique undergraduate leadership experience unlike any other in the United States.
Historically, the home of the Pershing Rifles
National Headquarters is the University of Nebraska – Lincoln. Today however, the National Commander, a Pershing Rifles Major General, is elected from the entire body of Pershing Rifleman and may reside in any one of the 60+ units spread out across the United States and Puerto Rico.
The United States and Puerto Rico are divided into a number of regiments. Regiments with two or more active Companies can apply for a Regimental Headquarters, typically commanded by a Pershing Rifles Colonel.
Commanded by a Pershing Rifles Captain, the Company is the heart and soul of the National Society of Pershing Rifles. Companies are held at one host university, but typically include students enrolled in colleges and universities that have a cross-town enrollment program through the Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC).
